Shenten Dargye Ling was established in 2005 by His Eminence Yongdzin Lopon Tendzin Namdak Rinpoche, the most senior teacher of the Yungdrung Bon tradition, with the aim to preserve this ancient tradition and to transmit it to Western students.
Shenten Dargye Ling means Sanctuary where the Teaching of Tonpa Shenrab Flourishes. In 2006 Shenten Dargye Ling was recognized by French Ministry of Interior as a Religious Congregation, confirming its status as an authentic spiritual organization. The community of Shenten Dargye Ling comprises lay practitioners as well as ordained monks and nuns. The ordained community is organized under Shenten Dargye Ling Congregation headed by the Abbot Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpochee who is also the Abbot of Triten Norbutse Monastery in Nepal. The lay community is organised under Shenten Dargye Ling Association.
Shenten Dargye Ling organizes regular teaching retreats and collective practices, and offers facilities to do individual retreat.
There are resident lamas at the premises at Chateaux de la Modtais where daily meditation practice in the morning and evening are conducted.
Shenten operates a meditation school that allows students to receive the full transmission of each of the four main cycles of Dzogchen teaching during longer periods of intensive retreat in the traditional way.
